Colorday 2019

by Rileigh Mapel

Many people may wonder what Colorday actually is. To most it is known as homecoming, but Boone Central views it as something different. Instead of focusing on a football game, Colorday focuses on the many “colors” of our school. The ceremony includes the showing of banners representing each club that Boone Central has to offer. Culture club, FFA, book club, dance team, and choir are just a few of the many clubs that the school offers.

Every year the week before Colorday is known as “spirit week”. To start off spirit week the classes compete in a wall decorating competition. This year the seniors got their inspiration from the movie High School Musical. The juniors, sophomores, and freshmen also went off of popular movies or T.V. shows. Throughout the week there were also themed dress up days. This year's spirit week themes were:

Monday- Meme/ Vine Monday

Tuesday- Teacher Tuesday

Wednesday- Wounded Wednesday

Thursday- Throwback Thursday

Friday- Cardinal Crazy

Below are a few students that represented each theme perfectly!

Meme/ Vine Monday

  • Seen here is a junior, Richard Cleveland, wearing a costume inspired by the T.V. show The Office. He is portraying Dwight Schrute, who places random objects like a stapler in jello.

Teacher Tuesday

  • Seen here is a junior, Claire Nelson, dressed as one of the janitors at Boone Central. Lowell has been working at the school for 12 years!

Wounded Wednesday

  • Seen here is a freshman, Kevin Haase, with crutches, a writ brace, black eye, and a catheter for wounded Wednesday!

Throwback Thursday

  • Seen here is a sophomore,  Emma Thompson, wearing her mom's old cheerleading outfit from when she was a highschool cheerleader at Newman Grove!

Cardinal crazy

  • Seen here is a senior, Casidy Baumgartner, dressed as our very own Boone Central Cardinal! Complete with a tail and beak this is the outfit she has worn on this day for the past 3 years!
